THE Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) have arrested a 43-year-old Croatian identified as Nikola Katic who is wanted by police in his native country suspected of being involved in the trafficking of 155 kilos of cocaine estimated as being worth £9 million.

A European Arrest Warrant was issued by the Supreme Court in Croatia last February and RGP officers discovered that he was in Gibraltar and arrested him in Waterport Terraces last Monday.

RGP Commissioner Ian McGrail tweeted “Good arrest by RG Police Drug Squad detectives. A Croatian national wanted in his country for drug trafficking offences (155kg of cocaine) & thinking he was safe from apprehension in Gibraltar will now face an extradition process.”
