Poetry winners pose at the Amigos de La Herradura awards ceremony
THE Association ‘Amigos de La Herradura’ held a distinguished awards ceremony for its XIII Poetry Contest on December 7. The Gala paid tribute to the memory of Paulino Álvarez, the dedicated organiser and coordinator of the cultural event, who sadly passed away last February. The function took place on Saturday in the Centro Cívico auditorium in La Herradura. Musical entertainment accompanied the poetry, with special appearances including guitarist Miguel de Carmen, Fabiana Balserini, Ivo Fernández García playing the violonchelo, Sonidos Sanadores and Ismael López and Hugo Barberon Ruiz playing the piano and the violin. Thanks to the tireless work of Paulino Álvarez, the award enjoys national and international prestige and contributes to enriching the cultural life of La Herradura. Almost 130 people sent in their poetry works for the thirteenth edition of the contest, that was judged by journalist Andrés Cárdenas and writers Pepa Merlo, Tomñas Hernández, Reinaldo Jiménez and Álvaro Salvador Jofré,
