A MAN has been arrested in Malaga for punching his wife in the eye and then dragging her by her hair whilst she protected her 6-Month-Old Baby.
The alleged aggressor, a 29-year-old man of Moroccan origin, was arrested by the local police. The events took place around 16:30, a few weeks ago, in Malaga. The officers, after hearing the victim’s testimony, contacted the alleged abuser for a statement.
The man claimed that he and his partner had assaulted each other after an argument. The aggressor had scratches on his face and neck, as well as bites on his right wrist.
However, despite the injuries sustained by the man, the police deemed it inappropriate to arrest the woman since she has a young child in her care.
Following on from this gender-based crime, a second incident took place just days after in the eastern district of Malaga where a 46-year-old man was also arrested for threatening to kill his partner if she left the house with her young son.
An alert was given informing that the couple were fighting.
Local policemen who went to the scene found a woman crying in a taxi with a child in her arms.
The man, who claimed the argument was “nothing serious”, was arrested for an alleged crime of gender-based violence with threats. The woman was transferred to a medical centre.
