Top News In Andalusia As Drugged Driver Crashes Into A Lorry After Invading Opposite Lane In Spain’s Antequera

SPECTACULAR road accident yesterday (Wednesday) evening at kilometre 119 of the A-384 road near the municipality of Antequera.

Images of the shocking accident were recorded by the occupant of a car driving on the same road and observes how a vehicle, a dark Seat Ibiza, invades the opposite lane, on which a heavy goods lorry circulates.

The images show how the lorry driver on observing that the driver of the car does not correct its trajectory is forced to turn at the last moment to avoid a head-on collision resulting in a lateral collision that pushes the truck into a ditch.

Despite the shocking collision, both occupants involved in the accident only suffer minor injuries although there is considerable damage to both the car and the lorry.

The driver who provoked the accident, a 34-year-old man of Moroccan origin and resident of Algeciras, was arrested and tested positive for several narcotic substances, including cocaine, in the drug detection test used by the Civil Guard.

The man has been charged with an alleged crime against road safety for driving under the effects of psychotropic substances, in addition to the damage caused in the incident.

As Euro Weekly News has been informed, the accident caused significant delays on the A-384 road linking Antequera and Arcos de la Frontera.
