Costa Blanca News: Home invasion horror as young family is robbed at gunpoint

Police passed the robber's getaway vehicle as they rushed to the scene

Six masked men assaulted a young family at their Denia home in the early hours of the morning and threatened them with shotguns.
During the early hours of Thursday, December 11, six robbers raided the home of a young couple and their 1-month-old daughter whilst they slept.
In the middle of the night, the woman woke up after seeing phone torches light up her bedroom. At first, she thought it could be her mother who lives close by, but soon realised it was men wearing white masks, armed with shotguns and sticks.
The couple, who are 30 and 32 years old, have said they cannot stop reliving the terrifying assault. After discovering their victims were awake, the men tied them up using bridles. The man recalls he was kicked in the back, chest and head, but assures he just hoped they would leave fast without harming his wife or newborn daughter.
The robbers gained access to the house through the garden door and used a stolen van as their getaway vehicle. The facts point towards the couple’s Audi family car being their main objective. The couple were also forced to open the safe and the men searched the house, taking jewellery and other valuables.
After the aggressors escaped, the couple called the National Police, who responded so quickly to the call that they passed the stolen van on their way to the house. The van went off road and fled between the surrounding orange groves. Police have opened an investigation to find the criminal band.
