Excellent rounds in bowling drawn triples knockout at Costa Almeria’s Cabrera LBC

WINNING TRIPLE: Brian Willerton, Jenny Sheridan and Ian Jackson. CREDIT: Cabrera Lawn Bowling Club

THERE were some excellent rounds in the Los Amigos Drawn Triples Knockout competition hosted by the Cabrera Lawn Bowling Club earlier this month.
As the name of the competition suggests, players are not allowed to pick who they play with as the names are drawn. This means they can end up on the same team as someone they are not used to playing alongside. That’s the beauty of this event.
After some great play the finalists were Ian Jackson with Brian Willerton and Jenny Sheridan against Bob Craig with Arthur Lees (91 years young) and Dawn Scott.
Ian’s team started the better, and after 10 ends were 18-6 up, mainly due to some excellent bowling by Ian who was well supported by his team.
Bob’s team started to come back, but sadly for them were unable to claw back against Ian’s teams lead. The final score was 22-17.
