TALENTED QUARTET: Recently selected for the Alicante Province Youth Orchestra Photo credit: Javea town hall
AS they do each year, pupils from Alicante Conservatoires have been auditioning for the Alicante Province Youth Orchestra (OJPA). The auditions were held over two days last month and places in the orchestra were awarded to four students from the Javea Conservatoire, violinists Lucia Cholbi and Elanor Allman, together with Javier Gavila (trombone) and Marc Gavila (clarinet). This relatively newbut already experienced orchestra takes young musicians from all over the province, providing a solid training of such a high standard that they have won severalawards and played in important concert halls, including Viena’s Musikverein.
