Awards for Alfaz’s finest in 2019 on Costa Blanca

ONCE again, Alfaz’s Pau Gasol sports centre hosted the town’s Sports Gala, which has been held annually since 1992. In this year’s edition, the Women’s Basketball team was named 2019’s best thanks toits progress and classification, while the town’s Club de Ciclismo won recognitionas Alicante province’s best cycling team. Sports councillor Oscar Perez thanked the public who filled the Pau Gasol centre on the night for their warm response as well as the participation of those who had made it possible to celebrate the continuing succession of Galas. Alfaz mayor Vicente Arques congratulated the prize winners while drawing attention to all the sports people, instructors and clubs who worked so hard to promote sport inside the municipality. Together they formed one big family that continued to grow and develop, Arques declared, by including people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds to demonstrate Alfaz’s facet of a healthful town.
