Elderly woman hit by waste collection truck in Palma de Mallorca dies

AFTER 11 days in critical condition, the elderly woman who was struck by an Emaya waste collection truck sadly died at Son Espases Hospital.
The tragic incident took place earlier this month, when the 76-year-old woman was hit by the vehicle as she was crossing the street with her husband in the El Rafal district in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Emergency services had rushed to the scene where the woman was put into intensive care and also had a foot amputated.
After many days of anguish, her family revealed that she passed away on Sunday, December 15, surrounding by all those that had loved her.
They thanked staff at the hospital for the professionalism but criticised Emaya as not one representative had visited the hospital to pay their respects.
