AN ATTEMPTED robbery occurred this Monday at a greengrocer’s shop on Calle Travesía del Río in Vélez-Málaga. Two hooded individuals allegedly entered the establishment and demanded the money from the cash drawer. However, the owner, a 52 years old woman, stood up for herself and threatened them with a knife that she uses to cut the fruit, after seeing the this the would-be robbers fled.
“I have been through a bad time, but now I am well,” said the woman who has asked for help from local residents to try to find the perpetrators, who, despite being hooded “looked like young boys, “.
A witness to the attempted crime stated that the robbers were carrying at least one knife, although that could not be confirmed by their victim: “They did not threaten me with it,” she said.
