THE PLENARY hall of the Commonwealth of Municipalities of Axarquia hosted a presentation of the IV edition of the Agora Project in which 70 schoolchildren from the CPR centres Almijara de Canillas de Albida, CPR Virgen de la Candelaria participate of Colmenar and CPR Salvador Rueda de Moclinejo. This project is developed by the Global Local Consortium Association with the aim of promoting participation, democratic culture, local identity, environmental sustainability and values such as equality and solidarity.
The participants of this fourth edition are young people from the third to sixth grade. In the case of the CPR Almijara there have been 23 students who, through games and different activities, have been identifying concepts related to local identity and the environment. “I hope you have taken advantage of this citizen participation project because this is one of the bases of democracy. I also hope that it will serve them in the future for any action that we have to undertake in our town,” said the mayor of Canillas de Albaida, Jorge Martín, who has attended the event.
