CHRISTMAS is being celebrated to the full in Mojacar, with a whole programme of events and entertainment in the run-up to the big day.
This Friday children from the Barolome Flores infants and primary school will be singing their little hearts out at a morning carol concert in the village’s sports pavillion.
The place to be early evening is the multi-uses centre, where at 6pm sweet Festive Season goodies washed down with hot chocolate will be on offer, followed by performances by local dance schools Nicky Mainstone’s ProDanza and Natalia Lopez’s La Ultima Fusion, as well as by the Embrujo Mojaquero choir and Grupo La Fuente.
Santa Claus is in town on Saturday, and specifically in Mojacar Playa’s Parque Comercial, for the midday inauguration of an exhibition of Christmas cards by pupils at the Rey Alabez institute.
Embrujo Mojaquero will be back at the multi-uses centre at 8.30pm in the evening for a Christmas concert with the Mojacar municipal band.
Sunday sees the opening of a new exhibition at the La Fuente art centre: a collection of Lourdes Martinez de Arbuto’s watercolours.
It will be Christmassy-themed fun and frolics for the kiddies on Monday from 6 to 9pm at the multi-centre with activities including a snow party, photocall, lottery game, giant crystal ball, entertainment and music.
A Midnight Mass will be celebrated in the parish church in the village on Christmas Eve.
The Christmas Day mass will be at 11.30am with singing by the Rociero choir.
