Costa Blanca News: Alicante TRAM freezes tariffs for 2020 and offers 107 jobs

BIG CHANGES: New measures will incentivise the use of the TRAM

The Alicante TRAM has frozen ticket prices for 2020 and is offering 107 jobs. The Board of Railway Directors of the Community of Valencia gave Alicante TRAM the authority to freeze tariffs. Alicante has also decided to incorporate new measures to promote the use of the metro and tram networks.
The update has ruled in favour of the single ticket, which is currently only valid for immediate use. The new proposal will prevent it from expiring if it hasn’t been used, as well as applying a 20 per cent reduction for single parent families. Users of the personalised TuiN card that are paying €72,80, will be able to travel the entire network without limits and the price will be reduced to €63.
Emilio Bayarri Roca has been appointed as the new managing director, after Juan Andrés Sánchez Jordán presented his resignation. The public company thanked Sánchez Jordán for his two years of service, in which he helped modernise the tram network and opened the Serra Grossa tunnel.
