COSTA ALMERIA NEWS: Known criminal arrested for Cuevas del Almanzora jewellery theft

A 40-YEAR old woman is under arrest for stealing thousands of euros worth of jewellery from a home in Cuevas del Almanzora.
The Guardia Civil have charged A.M.S. from Zurgena with breaking into the property and pocketing several items of jewellery with a combined value of some €5,000.
Investigations into the crime, assisted by various means of technology, established that someone had got into one of the residency’s communal passageways and then forced open a window to get inside.
The Guardia said the information gathered over the course of the investigation clearly pointed to a woman who was well-known in the Almanzora region for having a lengthy criminal record for these kinds of robberies.
When investigators set out to locate the suspect it turned out she had left the area immediately after the Cuevas del Almanzora break-in. The Guardia did however catch up with and detain the 40-year old.
She faces charges of breaking and entering.
