Prince Philip, 96, in hospital
NINETY-EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Prince Philip was admitted to King Edward VII hospital in London hours before the Queen arrived in Sandringham. He was taken to hospital on the advice of royal doctors and is being treated in the royals’ favourite hospital for a pre-existing condition. He was able to walk into the hospital after travelling up to London from his home on the Sandringham estate. A Palace spokesman stated that the Duke of Edinburgh’s admission was planned and he is expected toremain in hospital for “a few days.” It has not yet been confirmed whether he will miss Christmas day with his wife the Queen, their children and many grandchildren.
