THE mayor of Benalmadena, Víctor Navas and the Councillor for Education, Elena Galán, made the annual visit from the mayor’s office to attend the Christmas party at the Municipal Occupational Centre, which currently welcomes 53 people who have some form of intellectual difficulty.

The mayor was very impressed with the work undertaken by the staff at the centre which not only encourages the development of their clients but also acts as a real support for their families.

Director of the centre, Ángel García, explained that the Christmas party is the culmination of the period of greatest activity of the various workshops which cover bookbinding, industrial handling, gardening and industrial cleaning.

All of those who take part in the work receive payment which gives them a source of useful income.

The mayor and the councillor spent some time chatting with those enjoying their Christmas party.
