THERE is some very good news for Benalmadena hoteliers as more than 500 sporting youngsters, coaches and player’s families will be spending at least three nights in the town taking part in the On Sports Andalucia Winter Cup 2019.

This news was confirmed by Councillor for Sports, Joaquín Villazón and the general director of On Sports Consulting, Miguel Vílchez who advised that the tournament would take place from December 27 to 29.

Teams competing consist of youngsters aged from six to 14 with a number of local sides taking part as well as visitors from the junior teams of  Malaga, Valencia, Atlético de Madrid, Granada and Betis and there will even be a team from Japan joining in.

The council is delighted that On Sports chose to return to Benalmadena for another year as it confirms that the town offers a great deal to those interested in sports and everyone is excited about the standard of play to be expected.

Such recognition encourages the council to improve sporting facilities on a regular basis and sees new local teams being formed.
