THE police are appealing for information after a man allegedly tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl as she walked down the street.
Thames Valley Police state that the incident took place as the young girl was walking toward Northumberland Avenue in Reading in Berkshire, England, when a man grabbed the child’s arm from behind.
Desperately screaming for help, he then let her go and managed to run away. Evidently frightened, the little girl ran home to her parents who then reported the terrifying incident to the police.
Officers working on the case are asking for any drivers with dashcam footage who were in the area at the time to come forward. The suspect is described as having short brown hair, with investigating officer, DC Yong Chung, releasing a statement which read:
“This was a frightening experience for the victim, who luckily managed to get away.
“I am appealing for information or witnesses to this incident to come forward and help us with our enquiries.
“This incident happened in a public area, at a time where I believe it is likely that someone will have seen or heard something.”
