A FAMILY faces fresh heartbreak during the festive season after a five-year-old girl was tragically killed in a car crash in Valencia, Spain.
As reported by the emergency services, the little girl was travelling with her 25-year-old mother and 55-year-old grandmother at KM 41 on the CV-50 road in Llombai yesterday afternoon (December 27), when it swerved off the road and hit a barrier. It is believed that the child was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and suffered serious injuries from the impact.
On the news of the incident, several ambulances rushed to the scene, with the little girl being taken to a nearby hospital. However, sadly she succumbed to her injuries and died a short time later. Her mother and grandmother have also been hospitalised where it is reported that they are in a stable condition.
As Euro Weekly News understands, the police are treating the incident as a tragic accident and the mother is being supported by bereavement councillors.
