Frankfurt, Paris, London, Detroit, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Frankfurt, Paris, London, Detroit, Los Angeles, Tokyo and Geneva has all at one time or another hosted the crucial automotive exhibition.

Most remain significant as manufacture of automotive products are significant local and national employers or just simply convenient for the industry.

This year its Guangzhou, China that wore the mantle of the most crucial exhibition. Most Global manufacturers launched new global models at Auto Guangzhou which opened on November 22.

Some launched models that are exclusive to the China market as well as taking the opportunity to reveal a global model. Nonetheless the China car market is like many other global car markets slowing down.

The future may or may not be filled with electric cars, mobility itself will not be going away much less going out of fashion any time soon.

Maybach is the extreme high end luxury brand of the German automotive behemoth Mercedes-Benz, renamed as Mercedes-Maybach in 2014. Since 2015 more than 45,000 examples of the Mercedes-Maybach S Class have been delivered worldwide.

By 2018 more than one in seven S-class cars were Mercedes-Maybachs. Positioned as a trail blazer in defining style and status, carrying state of the art technology in automotive engineering with maximum comfort and luxury while mobile.

The Maybach has its origins in the 1930s with the grand luxury saloons of that era exemplified by the Maybach Zeppelin with its high seating position.

The Mercedes-Maybach GLS exploits the high seating position characteristic of the Sports Utility Vehicle to deliver key characteristics of a chauffer driven limousine while retaining for the owner the pleasures of self driving as desired.

The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach is spacious, a wheel base of more than three metres [3,125 mm] provides the opportunity to lavish space on passengers.

While height and volume are the platform the interior is also very quiet with noise insulation further reinforced by a rigid partition and a fixed parcel shelf behind the rear seats with a separate air conditioner for the rear seats as standard.

A quiet interior also places a premium on making sure all of the interior equipment operates quietly.  Whether its the optional refrigerator for the optional Champagne or optional juices or the seat mechanisms that recline to near flat or simply massage away the aches of a busy day.

There is even a dedicated Maybach drive program for the suspension and powertrain. Again, its settings offer rear passengers in particular they claim the ultimate in ride comfort.

Why choose this SUV over any other, Martin Hülder Director of Product Management Mercedes-Maybach explained “The unique combination of comfort, technology and luxury. The great spaciousness especially in the second seat row, and the use of materials are just two examples. Attention to detail also makes a difference.

Think of the electric running board, which not [only has] ergonomic advantages when entering and leaving the vehicle.

Their design is classically Mercedes-Maybach, fully integrated in to the side sill panels, they are not visible in the retracted position. There is also the very high standard of design, which for example includes louvres in a pinstripe pattern design and illuminated surfaces which makes getting in a real experience.”
