House fire death in Spain’s Cadiz

A PERSON died in the early hours of this morning (December 30) after a house fire in San Roque (Cadiz). 

According to the Emergency Service 112 Andalusia, the event took place around 2.30 am, when a call alerted them of a blaze in a two-storey building located in the area of Alcaidesa, on the Avenida del Golf, next to the golf club in the Urbanization Golf and Beach. 

According to the alert, there were people trapped inside the house and the coordinating centre immediately notified the Public Health Emergency Company (EPES), the National Police Force, the Civil Guard, the Cadiz Fire Brigade, the San Roque Local Police and the La Linea Local Police. 

Local Police reported that one person was affected by smoke inhalation, who died in the ambulance on the way to hospital. 

No more details have yet been given about the age or sex of the victim.
