‘Hi Albert. I have killed my daughter’: Spine chilling message sent by mother who murdered her daughter in Spain to Spanish journalist

IN the wake of the shocking murder of a 10-year-old girl in Girona, Spain, the mother who claimed responsibility for the crime is reported to have admitted her guilt in a series of messages to a Spanish journalist.

Contacting local reporter Albert Soler, the mother sent a chilling message which simply read: ‘Hi Albert, I have killed my daughter.’ Initially Soler discounted the message believing that it was a hoax from someone he barely knew. However, when a second message came through that said ‘I first gave her sleeping pills and then drowned her in the bathtub’ followed by ‘soon I will tell my neighbour who is a policeman’, Soler realised that it was not a sick joke but in fact a horrifying truth.

Soler admits that in 30 years of journalism he had rarely been as shocked as he was for someone to confess such a crime – a moment that he said he will never forget for the rest of his life.

As Soler did not know her surname or where she lived, he asked the woman multiple times for her address so that he could act. The mother refused to tell him where she was located and only that it was in the Devesa area. Evidently anxious and afraid, Soler made a desperate call to the emergency services in the hope that they could pinpoint where the woman was.  

The conversation between the pair took place just after 2pm yesterday (December 30), shortly before the mother made a spine-chilling call to the emergency services to admit that she had attempted to drown her daughter with her bare hands in the bathtub at the family home.

Several ambulances and units from the police had raced to the scene, where they tragically found the young girl lying unconscious on the floor. Paramedics desperately tried to save the child’s life before she was then taken to a nearby hospital, however sadly, she died just a short time later.

It has now been revealed that the 49-year-old Spanish woman had been out shopping with her young daughter just an hour before it is believed the horrific murder took place.

The woman had recently separated from the child’s father, with members of their family reporting that the mother had suffered from bouts of depression throughout her life where she had also been admitted to a psychiatric centre two weeks ago. The father had been in the process to file custody over his child as believed that his ex-partner was not fit to take care of the girl.

Several local residents have also come forward and spoken to the press since the death and admitted that the mother suffered from a mental disorder and complained that she was unable to look after the 10-year-old child.
