AN ELDELY man has sadly died after being stuck by a motorbike in La Orotava, Spain.
As reported by the emergency services, the incident took place yesterday afternoon (December 30) when a man in his 70s was crossing the road to La Perdoma in the San Antonio district. It is believed that the driver of the motorbike did not see the man walking into his path, where he struck him at full speed.
As the incident was called in, two ambulances raced to the scene finding both the elderly man and the 29-year-old motorcyclist seriously injured on the road. Paramedics desperately tried to save the older man’s life who was lying unconscious on the floor, however, he was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. The motorcyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital where it is reported by medical personnel that he is in a critical condition.
As Euro Weekly News understands, the police have now launched an investigation into the man’s death, with the fatal accident closing the roads in both directions as specialist investigative officers collect critical evidence.
