COSTA ALMERIA NEWS: Spectacular Chinese circus coming to town

ASTONISHING: Be prepared to ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’ at the acrobats’ feats CREDIT: Teatro Cervantes

A SPECTACUAR circus is coming this month to Almeria, which promises exciting and unique entertainment for all members of the family.
The National Acrobatic Circus of China (Shanghai World Circus) will be performing its latest production in Europe at the provincial capital’s Teatro Cervantes on the night of Thursday January 16 at 9.30pm.
This acclaimed company, which has bases on Broadway and in Las Vegas and Branson in the US, attracted packed houses in prestigious venues around Spain when it toured with its previous production in 2007 and is now exactly doing the same with its new show.
The New York Times has described the feats of the company’s contortionists and acrobats as “astonishing.”
Not that this should be too much of a surprise give then most of the 30 Shanghai World Circus artists are former Olympic medallists or previously performed with the internationally famous Cirque du Soleil.
