MANY of the staff working for TSB Bank had their current accounts with their employer and were amongst the 1.9 million affected by a major IT crash in 2018.

All customers were entitled to compensation but some employees took advantage of their knowledge of how the compensation worked and allegedly made false claims in order to receive the maximum pay out.

The bank (which is a subsidiary of Sabadell) has accused eight members of staff of making false claims and has sacked five whilst three were allowed to resign.
