Supporting Ladies Football on the Costa del Sol Spain

Presentation of the cheque for €2,500 Credit: La Cala de Mijas Lions

JUST before Christmas, La Cala de Mijas Lions presented a cheque in the sum of €2500 to the ladies and girls of the C.D. Torreón Cala Mijas football club.

The money, which was presented by Lions President, Anita Humphreys, will be used to purchase essential equipment for the club.

The girls ages range from 12 to 21 and they take their sport very seriously and Miriam Borneo, the organiser of the club, runs two teams, one for the juniors and one for the seniors.

She thanked the Lions for their help and said that the money will enable the club to enhance their training facilities.

After the presentation the girls changed quickly into their playing strip for a match against Velez C.F., which they won 3-1.
