Siren tests sparks fears of rocket attacks hitting Taji military base in Iraq where American and British troops are based

It had been reported that five rockets have reportedly hit a base that both US and British troops are housing near the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, an interior Ministry official suggested. Rockets were said to have struck the as-Taji military base, which is 30km north of Baghdad  this (Tuesday) evening. According to Al Ghad TV sirens were heard ringing out at the US consulate in Erbil, in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.

Although Kurdistan 24 reporter Barzan Sadiq has since tweeted that the base was calm on Tuesday night, and said the purported attack was likely just a drill.
