ROBBERS threatened a Mutxamel homeowner and his young son with a machete after they surprised the thieves as they were coming out of their property on the night of the Three Kings parades, Spanish press reported.
The father and the six-year old had driven back to the house after enjoying the fun and excitement of the traditional Three Kings processions in nearby El Campello. According to reports when the homeowner spotted the pair of robbers he decided to follow them in his car and take photographs.
One allegedly reacted by attacking the vehicle with a 30-centimetre machete, but fortunately failed to smash the windscreen, while the other unsuccessfully tried to yank open the car door.
The homeowner, who in the meantime was able to call the 112 emergency line, managed to get away.
