THE Almunecar Tango Festival will take place at the Casa de la Cultura and the Almunecar Playa Hotel on Friday 17, Saturday 18 and Sunday January 19 bringing together more than 200 couples from different communities in Spain and even from foreign countries, according to the organizers, Paz Sambade and Miguel Wiede. The festival will feature workshops, ballroom dancing and, as a novelty, the celebration of the first Tango Track Championship that will be held on Sunday, January 19, at 12:30 pm, in the Casa de la Cultura. Two great shows will be added to the workshops, ballroom dancing and championship: one on Friday 17 and the other on Saturday 18, both at 20:00 in the auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura The show on Friday, January 17, entitled “AbraSOS ”, is a performance through tango with six dancers from around the world that they will provide a delight of the senses with their tango. The show scheduled for this Saturday, January 18, will allow spectators to view the complicity between singer, musicians and dancers as they provide the emotion of each tango. There will be live musicians with a cast that integrates with the singer, Analía Buetti. The programme will end on Sunday, January 19, with the celebration at the Casa de la Cultura, at 12:30 pm, the first Argentine Tango Championship where dancers will perform several rounds of dance with classification, semifinal and final, while a jury will score them for the chance to win a trophy and a cash prize of €300.
