Costa Blanca News: Suspicious death in Torrevieja

ON SUNDAY a 66-year-old Icelandic man bled to death in the Los Balcones de Torrevieja urbanization after an alleged assault by his stepson, a 40-year old male of the same nationality who has been arrested by the Civil Guard as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of murder.

The fatal event occurred around three o’clock in the morning on Sunday at a home on Calle Cruz del Sur. According to sources, a 40-year-old man had accessed his mother’s home after jumping the wall and once inside pushed his stepfather who then fell against a window that broke and caused several injuries that ended in death. Health services were unable to save his life as the victim lost a lot of blood.

The stepson of the victim was arrested and first impressions looked to a  possible murder as the deceased had suffered some stab wounds that do not appear to be caused by the breakage of the window. An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
