VELEZ-MALAGA has opened the registration period for the seventh edition of the Velez-Malaga half marathon, which will take place on April 19 and donate part of the money collected to the Association of Volunteers of Child Oncology (AVOI). The Councillor for Sports, J. Hipólito Gómez, and the president of the Velez Athletics Club, Carlos Gámez, announced the details of enrollment in the event for which the registration period is already open and will end on April 17. Gómez said that “from the Department of Sports we support this type of initiative that promotes the practice of sport and healthy lifestyle habits and that has had a great reception in previous editions reaching 600 participants, a figure that we want to beat.”. Carlos Gámez explained that the inscriptions can be made for the 21 km Half Marathon and two urban races one of eight kilometres and as a novelty this year there will be another one of four kilometres, in which young people of 12 and 15 years can participate. The club president said that the three races will start at 9.00 a.m. next to the Vivar Tellez football stadium and that several refreshment points will be placed along the route.
Registration can be made until April 17 at Velez-Malaga and Torre del Mar Base sports stores and through the Velez Athletics Club website www.atletismovelez.es
