Costa del Sol News: Far-right fury in Malaga over new Spanish government

HECTIC: Police estimated around 1,000 people joined the VOX protests

More than 1,000 people in Malaga city participated in the protest against the new Spanish government. The manifestation was organised by the far-right political party VOX, against the new PSOE government formed by Pedro Sánchez.

Crowds assembled in front of the Town Hall to read a manifesto that was proclaimed in similar gatherings all over Spain. National Police estimated at least 1,000 people were present at the manifestation.

The provincial leader of the party, José Enrique Lara, was accompanied by VOX MP Patricia Rueda, who read the manifesto. Rueda was interrupted by chanted slogans including “A united Spain will never be defeated” and “We aren’t fooled, Catalonia is Spain.”

Protesters chanted as they remarked the absence of the Mayor of Malaga. They then marched up Calle Larios towards Plaza de la Constitución, where the national Anthem was played.
