Two Men Attempt to Abduct 10-Year-Old Boy Walking Home from School

Police in Cambridgeshire are currently hunting for two men, who attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old boy walking home from school.

Reports were made to the Police at roughly 4.30pm yesterday, that a young boy had been approached by two men outside the local Post Office. Officers arrived at Histon High Street following reports.

It’s been suggested that the two men asked the boy to come with them. However, he quickly refused and was able to return home safely.

The 10-year-old’s school, Impington Village College, have released letters to parents of pupils – encouraging them to discuss safety with their children when travelling between school and home.

The letter read; “It has been brought to our attention that yesterday a student from Histon and Impington Junior School was approached by two men outside the Post Office in Histon, while on their way home from school around 4.30pm.

“They were trying to convince the student to go with them but fortunately they refused and managed to make their way home safely.

“We would like you to be aware of this incident and to speak to your children on how to keep safe while on route to and from school, and to be aware of their surroundings at all times. We will also be speaking and making all students aware of this incident prior to the end of the day.”

Inquiries are ongoing, but no arrests have been made at this time.
