Under arrest in Spain for tying stone to dog and chucking in river

A 68-YEAR old man is under arrest for tying a large stone to his dog’s neck and chucking it into a river in Salamanca.

The animal drowned.

Officers from the Guardia Civil SEPRONA nature protection service recovered the dog’s body from the river Tormes where it goes through Villamayor de Armuña after it was spotted by a member of the public who was walking in the area.

Investigators tracked down and detained the dog owner, who now faces animal mistreatment charges.
