Home away from home: Ana Mula was received by Ambassador Tejada
The Mayor of Fuengirola was cordially received by the ambassador of Spain in Finland. Mayor Ana Mula, was present for the city’s first public act in the Helsinki International Tourism Fair.
The Mayor stressed the excellent relationship between Fuengirola and the Nordic country and expressed her satisfaction in being the favourite destination of Finns. Participating in the ‘Matka 2020’ Finnish Fair is part of the International Projection Plan created by the municipality.
There are currently 5,000 Finns registered in Fuengirola, many of whom own and manage businesses in the town. Following the reception, Ana Mula valued the ‘excellent’ relationships that has been maintained between the two nations. She also highlighted what she called ‘the unbeatable social and economic ties’ that link Fuengirola with the Finnish country.
The Mayor further explained: “The excellences of Fuengirola, as a place to establish and develop a business or family project, or simply to spend long holiday seasons, have long been known in Finland. But it is up to me, as mayor, to continue working so that our city remains the main tourist and residential destination for Finns. In that spirit, it is very important to have the help of the Spanish Embassy in Finland.”
