Newborn baby found dumped on the streets in Spain with umbilical cord still attached

A NEWBORN baby has been abandoned on the streets in Spain with their umbilical cord still attached.

The surprising discovery was made by a resident on Calle San Isidro in Orihuela, a municipality located at the foot of the Sierra de Orihuela mountains, yesterday evening (January 17). Local sources indicate that the baby was wrapped up in clothes and left in the outside entrance of an apartment block.

Once the emergency services were alerted, an ambulance was immediately deployed to the scene with the child then being taken to the Regional Hospital of Vega Baja in San Bartolomé. It is reported that the baby is in good health.

As Euro Weekly News understands, the police are now searching for the mother and have made an appeal to the local community in hope of finding more about the baby’s family. It is understood that so far the mother has not yet been found.
