MODERN: The proposed stand will offer a virtual reality experience
Nerja is beginning 2020 with a new promotion strategy at the International Tourism Fair in Madrid (FITUR). Councillor for Tourism, Gema García, announced the municipality’s big plan to attract visitors.
Among the new campaigns, the one relating to environmental tourism stands out. Nerja is giving special attention to the Sierra Almijara natural park with the new motto, ‘Nerja, between the sea and the sky’. The Town Hall proudly highlights that the municipality is home to the highest peak on the peninsular coast, the Pico del Cielo (peak of the sky).
The stand that will represent Nerja in Madrid has been designed to create an immersive virtual reality experience. It will also feature all the activities that can be enjoyed throughout the year in the municipality.
Councillor Garcia expressed her satisfaction with Nerja’s new image. She emphasised the importance of being present at the event in Madrid and said: “Tourism is the economic engine of the area and the generator of most jobs.”
