Spanish firefighters control raging wildfire in Molvizar despite strong winds

EXTINGUISHED: The fire was put out despite the unfavourable weather conditions

Almuñecar firefighters took part in the extinction of a raging fire in Molvizar. Around 2,000 square metres of land were burnt down on Sunday in an area known as Marchal Alto.
A spokesperson for the Almuñecar Fire Department reported that the fire was extinguished successfully in two hours. The firefighters were helped by eight forest officers equipped with water pumps and the Guardia Civil.
The strong winds were a particular worry for the Fire Department. However, according to the firefighters, luck was on their side and they were able to control and extinguish the flames before nightfall.
