Spain’s Andalucia is preparing for monsoon weather today as heavy rains are due in in for at least the next 24 hours as the region goes on alert.
Local Authority workers are prepared and at the ready for floods, mud slides and draining blockages are are currently lifting all man hole covers to shift quicker the excess waters.
Normally dry river beds are being cleared of debris especially under bridges to allow for the flow of water expected to come down from the mountain area’s and gush out to sea, although bursting river banks are expected and plans are already in place to tackle these if and when they burst.
Local police are advising everyone to stay indoors where possible and to stay away from all sea fronts, according to a police source appeals are going to made to surfers to come out of the water along the coast as rip tides could formulate with a heavy increase of water into the sea clashing with his currents and waves currently due to the high wind speeds.
The area of Andalucia is now going on full alert for monsoon weather today, please stay safe is the cry from the authorities.
