THERE is a packed cultural agenda in Almuñecar in February, with events ranging from theatre and dance to classical concerts, art exhibitions, and of course the carnival celebrations.
The month kicks off this Saturday with a musical production of Alice in Wonderland at the Casa de la Cultura. The same venue hosts a concert by the Tamariz-Contreras sextet next Monday February 3, while on Thursday evening there will be the evocative sounds of Argentina with a night of tango.
Jazz and funk lovers will want to make the following night, Friday February 7, a date with the ‘One for my baby’ concert.
Musical highlights coming up later in the month include more flamenco on the evening of Sunday 9, the Best of Blues with Ray Farrell on Friday 14 and a concert by the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra on Sunday 23.
An exhibition of erotic art runs from February 8 to 22 in the Casa de Cultura’s exhibition hall.
