TO coincide with Andalucia Day which is on Friday February 28 this year, many schools celebrate Semana Blanca and close to give children the opportunity to enjoy some winter sports and adventures.
The Albergue Entrerrios Hostel which is about eight kilometres above Mijas and is managed by the Mijas Council will be accepting enrolment for children aged between four of 15 years of age to take part in its programme of a multitude of activities related to environmental awareness, nature and animal care.
For the whole season, its activities will be run under the concept ‘Let’s listen to the earth’ and for its Semana Blanca week which runs from February 24 to 28, the focus will be on water and its importance to the environment.
There are places for 110 youngsters and applications for children to be involved may be made from Monday February 3 at the Department of Hostels, the library in Mijas Pueblo or the Cultural Centre in La Cala.
