THE next big name to be announced as appearing at the Marenostrum Festival in Fuengirola is singer Monica Naranjo who on June 27 will be bringing the Renaissance tour marking her 25 years in music to the town.

Born in southern Spain, her family moved to the north when she was quite young and she decided that her ambition in life was to be a popular singer.

She initially found fame in Mexico where she recorded her first album but with her second album she became a favourite in Spain and although she has had periods where due to self-doubt she took a break from music, she is back entertaining.

With 14 albums selling more than 10 million copies and with a number of tours behind her, what has really kept Monica Naranjo at the top has been the strength and quality of her voice and the quality of her live performances.

Tickets for her Fuengirola show cost from €40 to €75 plus fees and go on sale at 10am on Thursday February 13 through www.marenostrumfuengirola.com.

This promises to be the biggest Marenostrum Festival so far with performances already confirmed from Marc Anthony, Julio Iglesias and Lenny Kravitz to name a few as well a Metal and Ultra Beach festival with more dates to be announced.
