Britain in parts will have a a whole month of rain today as the storm known as Dennis strikes the UK completely.
The Met Office has issued a danger to life warning with many parts of the UK to experience some serious heavy flooding.
Chaos is expected at British ports and roads as Dennis whips up and is expected to be far worse than last weeks Storm Ciara.
Wind speeds are set to reach up up to 80 mph in many areas with lashings of rain constantly coming down creating what the Met centre call a “perfect storm”
Expected today is 5 inches of rain fall with a larger risk of flooding due to the ground already being saturated after Ciara.
It’s highly likely power cuts will come into play with electricity companies already on standby to be on call out quickly over the weekend.
We the Euro Weekly News spoke to Andrew (Chip) Jenkins and engineer with Western Power who told us, ” We are all prepared for call out, numbers have been trebled from standard weekend call out duty in preparation for the inbound storm coming in where we expect to suffer power cuts as lines go down”
