Armed Robbers in Hong Kong make off with Toilet Roll Stash as shortages send prices sky high!

A Criminal Gang In Hong Kong makes off with Hundreds of Toilet Rolls!

Armed robbers in Hong Kong made off with hundreds of toilet rolls worth more than HKD1,695 around 200 euros, which doesn’t seem a lot but there is a massive shortage in Hong Kong due to shortages caused by panic-buying during the coronavirus outbreak.

Two Knife-wielding men robbed a delivery man outside a supermarket in the Mong Kok district, police said, two men were later arrested and “wiped clean” of the stolen loo rolls, now a valuable resource, local media reports said.

Triad Criminal Gangs involved!

The “armed robbery” took place in Mong Kok, a district of Hong Kong with a history of “triad” crime gangs, early on Monday outside of the Wellcome Supermarket.

Although some outlets across the city have seen supplies massively depleted with long queues when new stock arrives and government assurances that supplies remain unaffected by the virus outbreak, residents have been stocking up on toilet paper.

Other household products have also seen panic-buying including rice, pasta and cleaning items. Face masks and hand sanitisers are almost impossible to get as people try to protect themselves from the coronavirus, which has already claimed more than 1,700 lives.

Authorities blame false online rumours for the panic buying and say supplies of food and household goods remain stable.
