Spain’s Guardia Civil have dismantled a network of crooks posing as workers of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS).
1,500 elderly people in Jaén were targeted by a criminal organisation who offered therapeutic material at exorbitant prices. As Euro Weekly News understands the extra costs meant a profit of 3 million for the dismantled gang.
The operation known “Operation Mutante”, had monitored 22 individuals over a period of two years. The individuals, all arrested in the province of Granada on charges of illicit association, posed as workers of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS).
The detainees offered the targeted victims mattresses, walkers and compression products to improve joints and circulation problems at much prices much higher than the market value. These extra costs meant a profit of 3 million for the dismantled gang.
