THE Costa Blanca town of Teulada-Moraira has programmed a series of events for the Sala de Jurats i Justicies building’s 400th anniversary. Located in Teulada, the Salaad joins the house of Constanza Ferrer, sister of San Vicente Ferrer, Teulada-Moraira’s patron saint. It was built as a meeting place for the local authorities at a time when the town was beginning to expand, although in the intervening centuries it has housed schools, a market, local brass band’s rehearsal room, a Justice of the Peace and–until 1991-the town hall. This year the Sala de Jurats will see activities ranging from lectures on literature and history, exhibitions, plays, live music, gastronomy and even fireworks. The town hall is also organising advertising campaigns that promote the Jurats building as another aspect of municipality tourism and heritage assets.
