Balearic Island Supreme Court cuts Mallorca murder sentence

THE Balearic Island Supreme Court has cut the sentence for the young man doing time for killing his stepfather and for stabbing and seriously injuring his mother his mother in Calvia.
The court took into consideration the extenuating circumstance of Bodgan K’s confession and ruled to reduce the number of years behind bars from 37.5 to 35.
He called the 112 emergency number after the crime to report there were two bodies in his home following a family argument. In addition, his cooperative attitude towards the police contributed to establishing the facts and who was responsible.
The case dates back to the night of January 11 2018. The then 27-year old was found guilty in a trial by jury of attacking his stepfather and his mother with a bayonet and a kitchen knife after a fallout in the family home in Costa d’en Blanes.
