Prince Andrew’s 60th birthday bash in Windsor as councils refuse to fly Union Flag in his honour

The Duke of York has celebrated his 60th birthday today with a private lunch at Royal Lodge.

Prince Andrews birthday bash was slimmed back, however Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were among those to attend, they were seen arriving at the residence in blacked out Range Rovers and joined around a dozen friends and family for the quiet event.

It has not been a great year for Prince Andrew after his disastrous Newsnight appearance about friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffery Epstein, which led to him stepping back from royal duties for the foreseeable future.

Councils have refused to fly the Union flag, to mark to his birthday. Liverpool Town Hall was among the buildings to not fly the British flag today.

The bells of Westminster Abbey will still ring out in celebration it is a Royal Peculiar, a place of worship that falls under the jurisdiction of the monarch rather than bishop.
