Spice girl says Brits ‘scuffle’ with Posh sparked her eating disorders and depression

Mel C reveals drunken Brits ‘scuffle’ with Victoria Beckham sparked long battles with eating disorders and depression after the Spice Girls’ manager threatened to sack her over offstage clash.

Mel said that she was threatened the sack by the group’s manager, over the incident at the Brit Awards, and she started to become ‘really hard on myself’, which came at a cost to her mental health.

Mel, tells Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs that she read the riot act after she told ‘Posh Spice’ Victoria to ‘f*** off’ during the offstage clash.

She says: ‘I was so hurt and embarrassed. We’d all had a few bevies and on the way out there was a little scuffle between myself and Victoria. We can’t say this on air but I asked her to go away. I was told if that behaviour ever happened again, then I would be out.

‘To think I could have messed it all up and lost it all.. I began to be really, really hard on myself. I think that is where the start of my problems came because I had to be very very strict with myself. I couldn’t allow myself to relax because if I did I might mess it all up.’
