THE Mare Nostrum Alicante Scouts have chosen the Costa Blanca town of Campello to celebrate Founders Day, the birthday of Lord Baden Powell. The troop will be holding an Open Day at the Pla de Barraques school this Saturday, February 29 between 11am and 2pm with cooperation from Campello town hall’s Youth and Environment departments. The Scouts have enlisted the participation of the Guardia Civil, Policia Local and the Fire Brigade there will be demonstrations and exhibitions from all three. There will also be a Red Cross workshop on first aid. Other Open Day workshops include recycling and sustainability as well as salsa dancing. Activities include photo-call, bouncy castles, face-painting, a batucada drumming display, gymkhanas and an animal-adoption fair.
